This top-up degree programme is designed specifically for people who are working or interested in working in an accounting function in business or commerce, or in entering the accounting or finance profession.  Areas covered in this programme include financial management, taxation, auditing and corporate governance. Theory of accounting and the practicalities of its application will be introduced. This degree course seeks to ensure maximum exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

The degree together with ACCA qualification, or with further enrolment in the Qualification Programme (QP) of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), will give you the greatest flexibility in advancing your career, whether it is auditing, taxation, management accounting, financial reporting or management consulting.

Graduates of the programme are entitled to the maximum exemptions of 9 ACCA papers, which brings students closer to the status of a professional accountant. With the professional qualifications, students tend to advance to professional accountants involved in treasury, business consulting, banking, government and other managerial positions, all of which require competence in accounting.

Honours Award

Honours in the degree will be awarded based on the total mark of all courses in accordance with the University's course regulations.

Teaching Mode

Face-to-face tuition in Hong Kong
  Each semester is a 6-month period covering 2 courses of study
Each course is providing with 66 hours of seminars after office hours in the evenings, weekends and public holidays

Assessment Method
Each module is assessed by:
40% main assignment
60% examination

Diploma holders or with equivalent qualifications
Applicants with other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Refund Policy
The program allows for full refund of installment fee if withdrawal notice is received in writing by Kaplan Higher Education (HK) Limited 2 weeks prior to the start of each of the terms. There will be no refund of installment fee if withdrawal notice is received afterwards. All fees paid less application fee will be refunded if the course is withdrawn or not offered.

On premature cessation of the course, all fees and charges that have been collected in respect of any part of the course failing to be conducted on or after the date of the cessation will be refunded within 1 month of the premature cessation.
